Hartlepool Tall Ships

Hartlepool Maritime Festival

Its Over...at least until next year. We all hoped for good weather, but it wasn't to be. It was cold, it was windy and it was very, very, very wet. However many people braved the elements, donned their waterproofs and made the best of it.

This years event is set to be Hartlepool Dock fest '09! To be held on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July 2009.

Hartlepool Maritime Festival is now established as one of the major events in the Tees Valley and this year it promises to be an awesome appetizer to the Tall Ships Races in August 2010.

The huge programme of events (most of which are free) will take place on land, on the water and even in the sky. The festival is a celebration of Hartlepool's heritage and everything maritime. It's also the perfect way to show how Hartlepool is evolving into a tourist destination. If you haven't been here before or for a number of years, prepare to be amazed by the changes.

The festival will be a giant piece of harbour-side entertainment, attracting tens

Continental market, selling an abundance of delicious produce
Comedy, dance, and much much more
Most of the entertainment is completely free!

A taste of Hartlepool

Another new feature of this year's festival is "A Taste of Hartlepool", developed by the Tourism Team as part of the Hartlepool Restaurant Initiative. It comprises a series of events in which local restaurants work in partnership with Hartlepool College of Further Education to develop and enhance the selected menus.
