Cleveland College of Art & Design (CCAD) is the only specialist art and design college in the North East of England and one of only four in the country. It came top of the National Student Survey in regards to student satisfaction when compared with other specialist colleges and came fourth when compared to every college and university in the country.
CCAD is an institution of both further and higher education, it has two campuses – Green Lane in Middlesbrough focuses on further education courses for school leavers and adults who wish to study a level two qualification. Church Square in Hartlepool is a campus which offers university level courses, such as Foundation Degrees and BA (Hons) programmes.
Church Square Campus offers a range of higher education courses which are extremely rare, such as Entertainment Design Crafts, Costume Construction, Creative Fashion Practices, Textiles and Surface Design plus many more.
Church Square has recently seen a great deal of investment from the College as they have recently expanded into the Leadbitter and Municipal Buildings. CCAD has also acquired premises next to its existing premises to open a ‘Creative Lodge’ for alumni members to exhibit their work, with a view to sell it in the shop, which is new for 2011.
All of the College’s higher education courses are validated by Arts University Bournemouth.
