Ah bless you Foster, hope you are well! Just thought I would reply to your posting. First of all, F Word was always going to be a good or bad thing. The fact is that they were all really impressed with Navigation Point and the crew enjoyed doing the bit on the restaurant.
Lotus Garden was nominated by a number of people. That is a good thing for Hartlepool. The menu issue was due to one of the business partners in Lotus Garden appreciating the nominations. However, when they were printed, there was still an embargo on the programme dates. Therefore they had no choice but to put a sticker over the information about the F Word nomination. I think it would have been silly to throw all of the newly printed leaflets in the bin, at this time of recession so a stickers were implemented to respect the show. Notice that the Mail article is proudly displayed in the window. It isn't about what was said on TV, it is about true appreciation for the many customers who voted for Lotus Garden. That still remains the case.
I don't think there is any problem with the comments on the show, and Lotus Garden was given permission to put something in the Mail. At this time of recession and worry for businesses, I hope everyone can try to support every businesses in Hartlepool. Each to their own but some people love Lotus Garden, I hope we don't lose this or any other restaurant in Hartlepool. David is like Marmite, you love him or hate him!
David and I are currently instrumental in supporting HBC in getting the drains issue sorted. David is constantly on call to ensure that any health hazards are prevented across Navigation Point. He sorts out any blockage problems as he has trained the staff to note the symptoms and they ring him immediately, should it look like the pump has packed in. This happened last Bank Holiday. We have video of it now and HBC are pleased that we are sharing the information with them so that where possible they can intervene.
The biggest reason for doing it is so that people in Hartlepool always have a good choice of venues to eat, drink and walk around on Navigation Point. It would be such a shame if this was lost and many of the businesses are struggling, not only with the recession but with the new pay parking system.
That said, I still think people should have the right to highlight their personal opinions (positive or negative)and I thank you for yours Foster. One thing for sure is that David is taking this on board and will do what he can to accommodate a wide range of customer needs so that anyone going to the restaurant will have a great night or lunch!
Best wishes to you Fozzie and other forum contributors/readers x
