Funky World

Funky World is Hartlepool’s fun and friendly play centre for all ages and abilities. Packed with innovative equipment, Funky World is ideal for learning, play and birthday parties. The centre includes a soft play area, sensory studios, Sony Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, large screen cinema and a bistro. Funky World is a not-for-profit social enterprise.

Soft Play Area

A safe environment for your child to explore and learn new skills with other children. The play area includes tunnels, slides, bish-bosh bags, car wash rollers, large padded animals, a ball-pool and a sensory cave. The play area is overlooked by the seating area in the bistro, giving a good view of the play area. There are no age or height limits.

Interactive Sensory Studios

Great for babies and young children, and for supporting the positive development of people with a wide range of specific needs such as ADHD, ASD, PMLD and EBD, these rooms are relaxing and fun, with giant colour-change bubble tubes, fibre-optics, voice and touch activated lights and sounds and much more.

Birthday Parties

A great place to celebrate your child’s birthday! Soft play, food, prizes, invitations and partybags are all included in the price. Each soft play party also includes classic games such as pass the parcel and musical statues with our play-workers, with a disco to finish. For older children we offer Pop Star Parties (with singing competition), Games Parties (with PS3 tournament) and Pics Parties (with your choice of film).

Accessibility

Funky World is located in a ground level building with wide doorways, ramps and a fully equipped changing place including baby change facilities, height adjustable changing bed,shower and mobile hoist. We also have an accessible minibus available for hire.

Booking
Booking is not usually required for Soft Play, though you may wish to call in advance or check the Funky World website to check for any parties or group bookings. Sensory Studio sare usually booked in advance, this can be done on line or by phone. Birthday parties are always booked in advance.
